Chad Miller, GS ’07, President

Chad Miller is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the School of General Studies. While at Columbia, he served as a GS Mentor and the VP of Student Life for the GSSC. He was also the 2007 recipient of the Alumni Key Award. He currently works as the Events and Outreach/Social Media Manager for the Arts Initiative at Columbia University. When not helping other Columbians pursue their own arts, he works on his own webisodes and blogs. Jesse Dean, GS ’08, V.P. Finance

Jesse earned a B.A. in Sociology from GS in 2008. While attending GS, Jesse wrote for the Spectator, attended the SEE-U program in the Dominican Republic, served in various leadership roles, and completed a yearlong thesis: Racially Significant Social and Economic Dissimilation on Montana’s Blackfeet and Flathead Reservations. After graduating, Jesse interned at the World Council of Churches at the United Nations. Currently, Jesse is a marketing and communications manager at ReServe Inc., a NYC-based nonprofit. In his spare time, Jesse volunteers for A Common Bond NYC, spends weekends in the North Fork with his partner, and is training for a marathon.

Michael Foss, CC ’03, V.P. Special Programming

Michael Foss graduated from Columbia College in 2003 with majors in American History and Economics.  After graduation, Michael started a career in the real estate industry, working first at the Rosen Consulting Group and later at Sorin Capital Management. Michael has remained active in Columbia alumni affairs since graduation and serves as the Chair of the Columbia College Young Alumni Fund and also sits on the boards of the Columbia Alumni Association, the Columbia College Alumni Association and the Columbia University Club of New York. When he isn’t working or attending a Columbia alumni event, Michael loves to snowboard, take photographs and travel.

Jason Banks, CC ’06, V.P. Communications

Jason Banks graduated from Columbia College in 2006 with a degree in Sociology.  During his time at Columbia, he was a cheerleader, taught ESL for Community Impact, and studied abroad at Columbia in Paris.  After college, he went onto law school at NYU, from which he received a J.D. in May 2009.  Currently he’s a deferred associate from his law firm, and is splitting his time off between doing very unlawyerly things (e.g., apprenticing at a cupcakery, studying Arabic, learning to play bluegrass banjo, etc.), interning for Seeds of Africa, and serving as a Program Fellow for New York Appleseed.  And he’s semi-stalkable via his own blog, 53 Friday Nights.

Adam Nguyen, CC ’98, V.P. Internal & External Affairs

Adam Nguyen is the President & CEO of Ivy Link, a social entrepreneurship that aims to make an impact in the area of education and specializes in test preparation and admissions advising for applicants to graduate and undergraduate programs, as well as private academic tutoring for students in grades K-12.  Prior to founding IvyLink, Adam’s career path included work for investment management companies, law firms, a presidential campaign and the public sector. Adam graduated from Columbia in 1998, where he completed the Pre-Med Program and earned a degree in Economics and Political Science. Adam received his JD from Harvard Law School in 2002, during which he worked in Accra, Ghana on sanitation and healthcare issues.  He also studied Applied Economics and Political Philosophy at the University College London, and spent time at the University of California, Berkeley as a Woodrow Wilson Fellow in Public Policy and International Affairs.
